My 2c on that.
The issue i have with "measurements of performance" in regnum lie in the fact that all aviable measurement tools we have (rp / deaths / kills / invasions) might value playstyles which bring fun in the game as worse performance then playstyles which are less fun for all involved. I like it for an informational purpose (even better would be a graph of kills or deaths over a timeline) but not for a measurement of how "good" some realm performs.
You talk about changing attitudes in a way to look better on the stats.
On one hand this can mean more teamwork. Yes thats very welcome.
On the other hand that encourages a "riskfree" play. Often resulting in zerging, farming. You go only when you are sure to win.
You should be careful with such statements, they make it even harder to encourage players to eg. not taking the easy, empty fort but instead go for an already captured fort for a challenging 3-way.
Even encounters for the sake of good, challenging thus fun fights, as they allow greatly to affect the outcome by teamwork, are discouraged.
Maybe regnum already started to become like that when Invasions were implemented. When the fights became to get
serious. Fighting to get something
valuable, valuable in the sense of ingame rewards - not fun.
There was and is a shift of
fun for evryone into
fun for the "winning" realm.
I just hope those players (mostly the old timers) who take the fun out of challenging fights do not die out and manage to show it to the newer players - that it is rewarding as it is fun.
I fear something like:
When you have no gems - no need to fight apart from gate defense.
When you are outnumbered - better dont fight, you might get a bad ratio.
When you dont have a zerg to invade - play Hunter, they have the best kill/death ratio = best performance or make sure you dont risk anything at forts by playing most defensively as possible.
Any more to say? Hopefully that never comes true ..
