Hello everyone,
Yes sadly the event was delayed. It will start on Saturday 4th 9am GMT now.
This has mainly to do with a bug that comes with the Windows 10 creators update. The bug would basically cripple the game for anyone who downloads this update. And eventually a large portion of the playerbase will (have to) do that. A fix was quickly found but it came with some other problems that needed to be polished away. Hence the delay.
Halloween will be over by the time the event begins, so I guess we should rename it to a freaky november event. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yup, according to the launcher the time was moved to 4pm GMT. About 4 hours from now.
The servers will go down for 1-2 hours to upload the update and the event. So bear with me.

Being patient. The server shows as up in the client, but gives a C012 error. Waiting some more.

Just as well. The server is suffering from serious issues. FPS dropped from 194 to 11 at one point, and there was NOTHING but DESERT within sight (contrary to NGD's belief, the server DOES cause FPS issues. It's certainly not my computer -- high end processor, high end graphics card, lots of memory on both).
I've been disconnected for no apparent reason 6 times in 10 minutes. Not sure what's going on, but the game has become nearly unplayable.

Yes, you are not alone. It seems the server issues are not over yet.
Adrian is working hard to fix it, we can only wait for now.
